It Was 90 Degrees… and Everyone Felt It

SoGo Pure Hibiscus Lavender iced tea on a sunny day, served on a white tray with loose hibiscus lavender tea surrounding a glass filled with ice cubes and rich red tea, with beads of condensation on the exterior.

When I created Hibiscus Lavender Tea, I was inside SpaJuiceBar on a 90-degree day. The heat pressed in, and the air hung heavy. It was a classic Florida summer day. If you live here, you know how oppressive the heat becomes after May. You could feel the humidity saturating the air.

Everyone who walked in complained about the heat. Some chose a juice or a smoothie to cool down.

Early that morning, I made Hibiscus Lavender Tea because I knew it would be a hot summer day, a real scorcher.

There is always a reason and purpose for the items I create at SpaJuiceBar. When I create something new, I consider what my body needs. Once I try it, I am eager to share it with you. I hope you appreciate it as much as I do. We are all exploring the plants the Universe has provided for health and nourishment.

While creating Hibiscus Lavender Tea, I learned that Vitamin C helps cool the body when exposed to heat by regulating temperature and improving heat tolerance. That's likely why lemonade, high in vitamin C, is popular on hot days. Hibiscus tea is cooling due to its vitamin C content and is also a mild natural diuretic, helping to reduce bloating by removing excess fluid and salt, which supports heart health.

You might wonder why I added lavender.

Known for its calming properties, lavender also contains vitamin C, antioxidants, supports digestion, and has anti-inflammatory benefits. Its floral, gentle flavor with light menthol notes is perfect for a hot summer day.

I thought the tartness from hibiscus would blend with lavender's floral notes, creating an ideal iced tea for a blistering hot day.

Everyone at the juice bar loved it and would buy a few bottles at a time.

That's why I decided to share the recipe with you so you can enjoy it at home.

You can make it on a hot, warm, or cool day, and it's delicious served hot or cold. I encourage you to try making Hibiscus Lavender herbal tea at home and to share it with your family. After you try it, let me know what you think and how you enjoyed it! If you have kids, they will probably love it too because it's a refreshing, cooling drink. Your feedback helps me create even better recipes for you.

How I Enjoy It

  • On a hot day, serve it cold to cool off
  • In the evening, serve it hot to unwind and slow the mind

Enjoy! Sonia ♥️
